Duck Run is a little farm that has found a lovely new nest in Pittsboro, NC on lush, sprawling land with aged oak trees and two ponds. We're grateful to have landed in a gorgeous spot at the end of Johnny Burke Road on land owned by Mark & Carol Hewitt.
50 ducks, 260 chickens, one cat, one puppy, two roosters, five pigs, and two rabbits live here at the moment. By Spring we'll have pastured ducks and chickens, along with more pigs.
The farm has produced free-range duck and chicken eggs, along with a wide variety of vegetables, and pastured pork. The 2010 season will offer the addition of pastured poultry, more pork, and a wider variety and larger volume of produce & fruits. Our BAKER + FARMER partnership with Chicken Bridge Bakery is cause for great celebration, and we're currently accepting sign-ups for a new 2010 CSA.
